La historia de Humanidad

Y nació Humanidad, un hermoso bebe chango babeante y balbuceante total y absolutamente dependiente de su madre Naturaleza. Al principio gateaba como chango y finalmente comenzó a caminar torpemente pero pronto creció para convertirse en un bebito cavernícola.

Sus padres se maravillaban al verlo jugar y hacer travesuras, desde rayar las paredes de la cueva hasta construir pirámides con sus juguetes didácticos. Humanidad, como todo buen niño, fue desarrollando rápidamente una gran imaginación. Corría en calzones por la choza hablando de todo tipo de Dioses y fuerzas mágicas que controlaban el mundo.

Y finalmente llego el día de ir a la escuela. Sus padres quisieron que fuera a la mejor así que lo mandaron a una escuela multicultural con maestros Sumerios, Egipcios y Griegos entre otros. Que orgullosos estaban sus padres de Él! aprendió escritura, geometría, matemáticas, hasta teatro y un sin fin de maravillas. Le encantaba jugar a hacer deportes con sus compañeritos y hacerle fuchi a las niñas!

"Oh, si!" Humanidad era un niño muy feliz en la escuela, hasta que conoció a Romano. Romano era el clásico Bully que traía a todos los niños de sus esclavos y como Humanidad era muy listo, Romano hacía que le hiciera todas sus tareas y exámenes y algo le aprendió. Romano era el Rey de todos los niños, les imponía sus leyes y todos le tenían que dar su lunch como tributo, hasta que un día Humanidad se cansó de esta infamia y se reveló contra Romano, organizó a un grupo de pubertos bárbaros y lo destronaron.

Humanidad y sus amigos celebraron este evento casi destruyendo el salón de clases. El evento escaló en proporciones y todo se salió de control sumiendo a la escuela en caos durante algunos años en los que Humanidad se convirtió en el Magno Rey.

Y todo esto estaba muy bien para Humanidad sin embargo había algo que lo molestaba. Humanidad se había enamorado de una chica muy hermosa, pero no entendía como ganarse su amor.

Lo había intentado TODO, siendo él el nuevo Rey Bárbaro le había ofrecido los mejores asientos en el salón, el lunch de quien ella quisiera, NIÑOS ESCLAVOS COMO SUS SÚBDITOS, TOOODOOOO... pero NADA funcionó, incluso intentó obtener su amor a golpes pero tampoco surtió efecto.

Hasta que un día viendo este desastre un padresito se acercó a Humanidad y le enseñó los principios del orden y del cortejo. Humanidad saltaba de alegría ya que con este nuevo conocimiento, en la escuela comenzó a restituirse el orden poco a poco, pero mas aun porque su amada habia correpondido a los sentimientos que Humanidad le expresó en su 1er carta de amor!!!

EL amor hizó que Humanidad entrará en un frenesí artístico y creativo por muchos años estudió Pintura, Música, Escultura, Danza, Escritura, practicó y desarrollo todas las artes en las que podía poner sus manos, filosofó al respecto de los astros y el lugar del hombre en el Universo.

Pero todo esto no podía durar, sus padres Iglesia y Estado estaban preocupados por el, "Estas fuera de control!- decían "Esas son ESTUPIDECES!". Humanidad no quería ya hacer lo que ellos le decían, quería RAZONES, quería RESPUESTAS!!! Y se reveló contra ellos.

Las guerras en su casa parecían no terminar y Humanidad quizo independizarse, pero aun no podía valerse por sí mismo, así que durante algun tiempo tuvo que aguantarse y bajo el ala de sus padres comenzar a formar su propio criterio y no conformarse con lo que ellos decían. Estaba HARTO de escucharlos decir "PORQUE SOY TU PADRE!" o "PORQUE SOY TU MADRE!" y si no "TE VAS A IR AL INFIERNO!", "Al carajo con todo eso" -dijó. El quería probarles que estaban en lo incorrecto así que como todo buen adolescente, Humanidad se pusó a pensar, a filosofar y a estudiar, decidió desnudarse de toda idea preconcebida, cuestionarlo y probarlo TODO.

Sus estudios y experiencias fueron sumamente fructíferas e incluso inventó muchas y muy variadas cosas que le permitieron profundizar mas en los mismos. Sus padres aun no lo comprendían y la pelea no estaba del todo resuelta de manera que decidió darles el avión y tirarles de locos fantaseosos, mitómanos y anticuados al menos por dentro, por que por fuera no dejaba de decir "Yaaa jefeeesss, aliviaaaanenseeee, PEACE AND LOVE!"

Y así llegó el día de entrar a la Universidad, un mundo de información súbitamente llego a sus manos junto con el deseo último de independizarse finalmente y ya de una vez por todas de sus padres.

Así que ya estando bien preparado, decidió poner sus conocimientos a prueba y comenzó SU PROPIO NEGOCIO, "Si señores!" -pensó, "Hoy un changarrito, mañana una corporación y en unos años, EL MUNDO!"

El negocio de Humanidad creció y creció y creció y CRECIÓ y tuvo muuuucho éxito, Humanidad no solo logró independizarse de sus Padres si no que ahora se sentía "Él hombre del juego", podía hacerles callar y echarles todo su ÉXITO en cara, quería venganza por tantos años de peleas y represión e iba a obtenerla. Al cabo de un tiempo se cansó de esto y decidió contratarles a ambos Estado e Iglesia, digamos... "compartirles" de su GRAN riqueza, hacerles partícipes de su "ÉXITO".

Todo iba bien con el negocio, la relación con los padres y aunque sus empleados no estaban del todo felices, "Bueno! No todos pueden ser ganadores, nooo... hay quienes nacen con estrella y quienes nacen estrellados... además, yooo me he chingado, que le echen huevos igual que yo" mas o menos así iba su monólogo interno.

Otra cosa que vino como producto de su "ÉXITO" fue un indiscutible atractivo SEXUAL. Nombreee, imaginate! ... jovén, guapo, EXITOSO, barudo, y un MAESTRO del cortejo. Le llovían las chicas!!! ya no sabía ni como malabarear tantas así que las probó de todos tamaños, colores y sabores hasta que le llegó el amor. "Si señores!" Su nombre es Era y Humanidad encontró todo el amor, el conocimiento y experiencias en ella.

Pronto se consumó el producto de este amor, un bebe habría de llegar a su vida!
Su vida se puso de cabeza!!! Y muchas ideas comenzarón a darle vueltas en la mente, Él aun tenía muchas cosas que quería hacer, pero ahora todo eso había cambiado, ahora tendría que hacerse cargo de su hija!!! Una guerra interna se desató, el pánico de renunciar a sus sueños lo abordó y comenzó una lucha por abandonar su viejo yo y renunciar a su EGOismo, un proyecto totalmente nuevo habría de venir, sus sueños tendrían que esperar o transmutarse.

Comenzó a pensar en su negocio y en el mundo que estaba creando con el, el mundo al que traería a su bebe!!! Súbitamente se dió cuenta de que había creado un desastre, de que su "ÉXITO" estaba soportado sobre el trabajo de muchos, que mientras el se hacía mas rico otros se hacían mas pobres, que su crecimiento desmedido producía mucha basura y contaminación, había creado un sistema insostenible! pero cómo parar esta locura?

Hasta ahora se le han ocurrido muchas cosas y Humanidad esta utilizando una manera mas inteligente y nueva de pensar, ha comenzado el proceso de transformar su negocio en algo de mas provecho no solo para el, si no para todos y también para el planeta.

Además sus padres Espiritualidad y Sabiduría también han aprendido muchas cosas de Humanidad y están apoyándole en esta nueva empresa.

El bebe aún no ha nacido, Humanidad y Era decidieron bautizarle Nueva Era y esta por llegar, así que Humanidad preparate porque Era esta a punto de parir!!! ;)

La información es PODER

Si algo debemos de aprender de la historia es que la información es PODER, quien tiene el poder maneja la información. Antes no teniamos acceso a la información así que el pueblo pensaba lo que los "informantes" nos decían que teniamos que pensar. Hoy tenemos el acceso al poder a clicks de distancia USEMOSLO.

Por años me he quejado de que las decisiones electorales se basaban en que candidato generaba mas basura propagandistica, que cara veiamos mas impresa por toda la ciudad, DONDE ESTAN LAS PROPUESTAS???

Otra cosa que debemos aprender de la historia es que parte de ese manejo de la información era decirnos quien NO ES EL BUENO, quien no nos conviene. Será que no nos conviene a nosotros? o mas bien que no les conviene a ellos!

Ahora, yo no sé si AMLO es la persona que le convenga al país, a ustedes o a sus familias, pero hice uso de este medio y analicé la información, y de entrada lo que AMLO propone me parece valiente, claro, sensato y oportuno.

Escucho a muchos pensando en sus cabezas lo que la televisión y los medios nos han hecho pensar sobre el y la gente que lo sigue y los invito a que no seamos borregos e investiguemos,

En el siguiente video AMLO presenta su plan punto por punto de una manera clara, concisa y sin miedo a tirar piedras directas...
Para tomar una decisión bien informada es lo mínimo que quisiera ver de cada candidato, verlos a ELLOS presentando su plan completo, no un comercial propagandístico de 20 segundos.

Evolution will find it's way every single time. Life will always find a way to continue. Love can't be suppressed forever. Consciousness can be distracted, entertained, hipnotized and manipulated... but not forever.

In this sea of screens that have sucked our minds and awareness, Consciousness will find a way to wake up and when that happens the castles of suppression and mind slavery will fall like castles of cards and instead of that, a river of love will flow through it nurturing humanity's fraternity and potentiality.

There will be no need for Govern:ments, cause each man and woman will become their own masters.
There will be no selfish ambition, cause we'll reach for the infinite treasure that lies within.
There will be no dead, cause we'll connect with our eternal essence.
There will be no psychosis, cause time will not overwhelm us since we´ll live in the present.

It will be a great time of peace, love and freedom in our history, helping The Universal Supreme being to awaken to it's oness with all that is and ever will be.

So fear not, because this Dark age can do nothing but make us stronger, more tolerant, loving and wise... nothing and no-one can't stop the flow of life, forever.

Big Think Interview With Robert McKee

Hey Guys!

So, I put myself to the task of writing a couple of story ideas for shortfilms and one feature film since there was a call at the studio to submit ideas so that we get a candidate for our next shortfilm or feature film... which is COOL!

I've had a couple of this ideas on the back of my head for a long time and I've decided to go deeper and actually develop them to something more concrete and structured.

So, I started studying and I found out, that I knew, or rather that I know, very little about the art of crafting a story, but the good thing is that there is literaly thousands of sources from which to start getting a better idea, and in that searching process I found this cool video from the Screenwriting Guru, Robert Mckee.

He definitely points out a lot of cool stuff about story but as it is natural, since story mixes up with life he ends up giving us a lot of insight on the current situation of the world that I just couldn't not share ;)

I`ll give you the highlights of what interested me.

Robert Mckee: “Stories are equipment for living.” ...Human beings need storytelling in order to make sense out of life, in order to live as well and civilized as a human being can.

Isn't that AWESOME? I think that's pretty cool, we NEED Story. I once heard Keith Lango say that we are a "Story Animal", meaning that, we consume story. And why is that? well, it's pretty simple, we have surpassed genetic evolution and gone into CULTURAL evolution, so our DNA is still evolving, just not as fast as our understanding of the Universe. Therefore we pass genetic information from generation to generation through our genes but the information about our understanding of the world is passed on through STORIES!!!

And that information today is just as VITAL for us as the genetic one for our survival!

And what does he say about the stories that we are telling today?

Question: Do you think our culture is getting better or worse at telling stories?

Robert McKee: Oh, in terms of the skill of executing stories, I would say we’re getting better...In terms of the content of the stories,... of what these stories are about, the depth to which we bring our characters, I would say, NO. The stories are more shallow overall. ... we’ve learned to be more clever, more experimental, and more skilled, often, in the telling of stories today, but I can’t say that the content is what it used to be.

Question: Do we need stories more today than we used to?

Robert McKee: ... You could make an argument that the DISINTEGRATION and RELATIVIZATION OF VALUES in contemporary society is so blurring that people desperately need stories to help them make sense out of life

I think he really nailed it here, THE RELATIVIZATION OF VALUES, wow that's a mouthful of words man!

And just what does he mean by that? Here´s what I think.

People, we gotta wake up to the fact that in today's world everything is relative, EVERYTHING. We've learned to respect each others point of view by means of understanding that everyone can be right or at least partially right within their own context and that`s pretty cool but we gotta realize that that way of thinking has flatten, totally FLATTEN our experience of life, cause NOTHING is better or worse than other thing, it's just relative, so that there is no up and down, and we've completely lost the vertical dimension of life.

But folks, life DOES have a vertical/hierarchical dimension.
Simple Examples:
Atoms to molecules to cells to organisms
Letters to words to paragraphs to books
The individual, the family, society, nation, the world

This is evidence of the hierarchical way in which life is arranged, and VALUES don't escape this arrangement.

But in today's world hierarchies are neglected, NO point of view is better than any another POV, no way of thinking is better than any other, no SET of values is better than any other, they are ALL RELATIVE and therefore we don't strive to work towards a higher, more integral and more embracing way of thinking and living. Actually we don't work together AT ALL! What for? if nothing is really worth the effort, we are trapped in "Hey man, you know what? you might be right within your context but not under mine, so you do your thing and I'll do my thing" (hence the Disintegration that Mr. Mckee mentions)

So, we NEED stories today more than ever and we've gotten better at telling stories it's just that the content is DULL, UNTRASCENDENTAL, LAME, there are so few movies out there that really deliver a TRANSCENDENTAL message, something that points to a higher path. A higher path which we DESPERATELY NEED, cause we are STUCK in flat land and we ain't going to move a finger about becoming better humans, becoming better persons cause there simply is NO BETTER version of us in relativism.

That SUCKS doesn't it?

Robert Mckee: The problem for people today is confusion in a world that should make sense. In a world in which you have more communication than ever, makes less and less sense than ever. And so you need storytellers to make sense out of that chaos, but it’s as I said, it’s a chaos of a very different kind today, and the writer struggles.

But the good news is that I think a lot of people is FINALLY comming out of flat land. A lot of people is starting to see the bigger picture of things and reintegrating the vertical dimension to their lives hence, there are people now that can make SENSE out of the current chaos in which we are living and give the tribe a better understanding of where we are now, how we got here, how did we end up creating all this mess and how can we get out of it and actually start to repair the damage.

In other words HOW can we TRANSCEND our current situation, solve the current problems and go on to the next step...wheeeere we are sure to find new problems, but that's a whole other story.

In the end all meaningful stories are about solving a problem and I think we've got some BIG issues that should be addressed.

I`m totally with you man !!!

Some people still think that the world Lennon imagined is a farfetched Utopia, an impossible world! But I think otherwise, I join the ones that think this world is a real possibility within our lifetime.

A world were there is no private property, were we all share and there is No:Thing to steal, fight or die for, therefore a world were there is no crime and no need for money, Govern:ments nor Police, wouldn`t that be awesome?

A world were there are no boundaries, no frontiers and no walls thus opening ourselves up to a real possibility of working together as ONE, and solving problems that concern everybody but that can`t be solved unless this happens, like the ecological crisis, poverty, hunger and class division.

Que pedo con la vida?

En verdad, QUE PEDO CON LA VIDA! Creo que todos en algún momento, en mayor o menor medida, de una u otra manera nos preguntamos, "Que pedo con la vida!" osea, "Que diablos hacemos aquí!?" Como para qué nos creo el Universo? De qué le servimos? De hecho, Por qué se creo el Universo? Empezando por ahí!

Según esto al principio no había NADA y súbitamente BOOOOM!!! hubo MUCHO, HUH? WHAT??? No es eso como, muy raro? No había nada y luego BOOM hubo mucho???...eeerm, algo aquí no me cuadra, además como PARA QUÉ? o POR QUÉ?

Ok, El Kybalión que es un libro de sabiduría muy antigua dice - "Como es abajo es arriba y como es arriba es abajo" Lo que significa que al ver como funcionan las cosas acá abajo tal vez podamos comprender como son las cosas allá arriba. De tal manera que, Por qué creamos nosotros? Por qué crea el ser humano?

Bueno, creo que una de las razones por las cuales CREAMOS es por simple y sencillo ABURRIMIENTO. Es decir, estamos aburridos y queremos un cambio, hacer algo nuevo, fresco! o simplemente algo para ENTRETENERNOS. Será posible que Dios o La Naturaleza hayan creado El Universo por que estaban aburridos de La Nada? Algo así como, "PFFFF, aqui no pasa NAAADAAAA! Vamos a hacer algo pa' variaaar!" y BOOOOM que crea todo el pedo! JAJ! hmmmm, es probable.

Otra razón por la cual creamos es, y esta es mas interesante, por IMPULSO. Súbitamente surge un impulso que nos OBLIGA a crear. De repente te nace una idea que quieres compartir, algo que quieres decir o expresar y TIENES que hacerlo si no NO TE DEJA EN PAZ! Te empieza a comer por dentro hasta que lo sacas y entonces descansa tu alma. Habrá ocurrido igual allá arriba? Será que Dios tuvo un impulso cabrón por crear? Tenia montones de energía creadora acumulada que de plano TUVO que hacer BOOOM!!! porque si no le ocasionaba dolor? Wow, eso suena loco no creen?

Me gustaría hablar sobre algo mas interesante, del porque se creo TODO pero antes seria bueno saber que piensan ustedes de esto.

Pasen una Navidad a todo dar con su gente, aten cabos sueltos y prepárense para un muy loco 2011. Que sus corazones se llenen de luz, paz, amor y buena vibra.

I got this lists thanks to my mate Robert Barros and he got them from someone or somewhere in AM, but he said the original source came from Doug Dooley (AM Mentor, Pixar dude). So thanks to Doug Dooley and all the chain of people that led to Barros and ultimately to me.

hehe...anyways, after the Acknowledgement section, you might be wondering, how is this useful?

Well, you just gotta check the list and start thinking in your heads how your specific character could convey those words in single poses and there you have it.

More interesting, more meaningful poses, equals, more interesting, more meaningful acting performances.

Instead of having a character be happy and just throw in the 'happy face' you can try to convey that the character is ELATED, exhilarated, entertained, amused OR instead of the character being mad, he/she can be enraged, irritated, aggravated. There are a hundread million ways in which you can convey a certain emotion.

What I've done ever since I got this list is, I look for the phrases/beats in the animation and then I try to find an interesting "transitive verb" that could define that phrase/beat, I then start acting out ways of conveying those ideas within the context of the phrase and the overall shot and things like poses and acting choices start FLOWING!

Hey! Well, I haven't been much of a blog writer, but lately I've been greatly inspired to do so, I realized that writing your thoughts in a place where they'll be exposed to the world, forces you to really put your head in order, which results in a benefit not only for you but probably for others.

In that note, I feel compelled to share my thoughts with whoever gets to read them. =)

Two years ago something happened to me that changed my life entirely. I gave myself the chance to really know myself through meditation where I found, among many other things, clarity of mind and peace.

With this clear mind, free from the agitation that I'd gotten by going through life without a real sense to live, it was crystal clear for me! "We are here to be happy!".

The quest for happiness is a universal mechanism embedded in every human being as a way to transcend. Meaning we are actually here to transcend, but transcendence is directly related to happiness.

The highest expression of happiness is obtained when we truly love, and true love is found in true giving.

A clear example is found in the difference between “having sex” and “making love”. Sex is an act which purpose (aside of the reproductive one) is mostly to obtain pleasure for ourselves, “I wanna have an orgasm” while “making love” is an act where we give ourselves out to the other person “I love HER, I want HER to be happy”

Paradoxically in the second one we are not thinking or desiring our own happiness yet we experience happiness in a higher sense and intensity.

When we truthfully give ourselves out we aren't thinking of our own good or later benefit etc, rather we are thinking on the good of other(s), that is then, going beyond ourselfs, beyond our ego.

In conclusion, the more we truthfully give ourselves out, the more we'll truthfully be loving, the happier we'll be, the more we'll be going beyond ourselves and our egos and the more we'll be transcending.

2.(Slow Zoom with cross fade transition, Long Shot with tight framing on the house) We get closer to this house, in silhouette we see someone mysterious sneaking towards the front door
3.(Medium shot) By his look we know it’s a robber, looking around to check if nobody sees him and he takes out a small tool.
4.(Close up of the door’s knob and robber’s hand) He uses it to crack the door’s lock open, CRACK!
5.(Close up on the robber) Sinister look and smile.
6.(Full Body Shot) He pushes the door and side steps inside the house.
7.(Cut on action, inside the house, Same Shot type) Robber enters the house back against the wall.
8.(Medium Shot) Robber hunches slowly while rubbing his palms and looking around.
9.(Slow Panning/Establishing shot of the house, Panning freezes abruptly while couch is in focus) SWITCH!!! (Lights go on) 4 People pop from behind the sofa, SURPRII...eeeh.

A Bunch of Drawings

Hey people, I know this is supposed to be an animation blog, and let me tell you I've been thinking A LOT about animation, hahahaha.... so, a lot of thinking, not much doing. But I did get some time to draw which is great.

Now, this drawings are really a mix of stuff that came entirely out of my head, others, I copied the general gesture and silouette and rendered them myself but it's mostly stuff that I drew for fun or just cause I loved the drawing from this or that artist and wanted to feel how it felt drawing it :P.

So, there you go, A BUNCH of drawings, I hope you like em half as much as I enjoyed doing them!

This 2 pages are full of fun "quick as I could" :P little drawings, a couple of them were inspired by certain cartoon characters that I like or drawings from artist sketch books, others just came out spontaneously.

Life drawing, these came out of photographs and the hand you might have recogniced, it's from the cover of burne hogarth's book, the head came out of my head, I didn't like it so much tho.

The Joker... I love this psychotic dude, for this I actually drew a quick gesture, then refined it a bit more by staring at me in the mirror (I felt really psychotic as well), and then I truly went psychotic shading it, 100% out of my head :D, I am pretty happy with it

This is an Alien dude that appears in the Comic book "The Incal" written by Alejandro Jodorowsky and art by Moebious, this is my favorite comic and I just couldn't resist this character :), I copied the basic gesture and finished him of myself.

The next 2 I found on a Capcom Art book and they went through the same process as the one above

And this one I just loved, Joe Quesada draws the greatest Wolverines EVER.
I just realized how geek that just sounded, weird thing is, I'm not really a hardcore Marvel Fan, it was just fun.

Lately I've been going here and there, up and down, so...away from the computer all I could do was animate in my head and have fun sketching.

Training with Keith Lango

Heh!

Since I haven't made a single post in this Blog for quite some time I thought I'd take a couple of minutes and give you a heads up on what I'm doing.

As some of you may know I'm a student at AnimationMentor.com, but I took the last term off to review what I had learn so far and get ready for Class 4.

Just when I took this decision, Mr. Keith Lango, a great person and animator that supplies the community with lots of training like his fantastic monthly video tutorials (Video Tutorial Service), his free written tutorials, that I personally think are jewels for us newbies as well as experienced animators and also all the great posts full of precious info and words of inspiration that fill his blog like website,hehehe, enough promoting the guy.

I was saying, just when I took this decision to take off one term from school, he started his APT (Animation Personal Training), a totally personalized animation training program, and I'm glad to be one of few lucky guys to have subscribed.

From the beginning I asked him to help me develop a strong workflow, why? cause "Workflow frees you".

As a student at AnimationMentor I struggled with this right from the start and I didn't feel ready to move on to class 4.

But now, 2 weeks far from the end of the training, I couldn't be happier to have taken this decision, not only has he helped me get what I needed and much more but I also had a great time talking with him about animation, the industry, art, and YES even the sense of life.

From the the little I got to know him I must say he is a great guy who not only knows animation very well but he also knows how to teach it.

So there you go, I don't know when there will be another round for the APT, but be sure to keep an eye on it, check out his VTS, his free written tutorials and his website.

And like he always says at the end of his Video Tutorials, "Be good to each other, all the best and God Bless!"

Hey People!

Just a heads up on Creanimax, this was the first "Big" Animation Convention to take place in Mexico and I wanna say I had A BLAST!!!, it was a super fun and inspiring experience.

The conferences were totally fantastic and I was lucky to talk with pretty much every conferencist.

Jan Pinkava, Bill Plympton, Colin Brady and Mr. Enrique Navarrete, all of them incredible guys that have years of experience in the industry and who were really kind to share their wisdom and words of inspiration with us, both on stage, giving their conferences as well as down stage talking with the people.

I had an amazing time and I was really happy to met some of the mexican students from AnimationMentor as well as getting together with my ex-coworker friends.

A big hug to ya'all! :)

I sure look forward for next year's CREANIMAX.

ZOE (Commercial Short Film)

Hey People! I thought it wouldn't be a bad idea to put here a commercial short film I did a couple of years ago at Digital Minds in Monterrey, México www.digitalminds.com.mx it was a great experience for me I learned LOADS of stuff and it was SUPER FUN. There I met my 2 very first mentors with whom I did this animation, the incredible Dan Livas and Freddy Arriaga both of them incredibly talented guys and friends for life.

I hope you like it, this was my very first real attempt to do animation.

This is a "not so quick sketch" =P I did for the weekly sketch thread we have in the school. It's the first time I do a 100% digital sketch out of my mind, I used Alias Sketchbook which is awesome and played a little bit with different brushes, I hope you like it!

Fat Man Waiting =P

Ever since I started drawing I found life to be the greatest source of inspiration
(something I found just recently) =P

I've done a couple of sketches from people, but this one I really liked so I put in a bit more effort to render it "nicely". I hope you like it, it was (clearly) a fat man, waiting for his plane at the airport.

It was, as Agent Smith would say..."Inevitable!"

Here I am, another guy who fell in the blog trap! Unable to resist the temptation to share a piece of his work, thoughts and likes with the world.

My name is Alex Kong, I'm just a crazy mexican studying animation at AnimationMentor.com

As everyone there I struggle everyday and night, awake and asleep to learn the fantastic craft of animation.

Besides animation I love to draw, I must say that I'm very new to the great world of drawing but I find it very rewarding and fun.

So here's just the first of hopefully many drawings to come.

Hopefully I'll be able to update this blog often and not leave it to its death.
